Posted in March 2016 "Completed Projects"

Funded By:         Mennonite Central Committee (MCC)
Starting Date:    April 2015
Ending Date:      March 2016

The project is going to target different types of communities (6 communities) of which 2 are located in Jerusalem Governorate (An Nabi Samwil and Beit Iksa); 2 localities are located in Hebron Governorate (Beit ar Rush al Fauqa and Susiya); and 2 localities are located in Bethlehem Governorate (Al-Walaja and Jebet adh Dhib). These localities had lost many of their lands due to the occupation land confiscation polices and some of them became without land or limited land to cultivate. Through this project 45 poor and vulnerable families will benefit through introducing three new irrigated agricultural techniques, based on the suitability of targeted beneficiaries. These techniques are balanced-pressure dripping system, the wicking bed system and the hydroponic system to produce vegetable crops. The priority will be given for women leaded households to empower the role of women in household and in decision making. The project will apply water optimizing techniques that will reduce the water consumption for irrigation and increase the efficiency of water utilization for crop growth and production. The project will result in improving the food security of the targeted families in addition to improving their livelihood.
